thanks - i loved the sound of that first instrument and the whole song sort of built itself around that. i used all percussive/mallet type synths

This has great potential! Can't wait for the finished product! Bass and Melody are both really well written!
I was going to say if you were going to make it longer, how were you going to vary the song but the ending told me really that you had that under control quite easily.

Reminds me of Yann Tierson, which is not a bad thing at all.
This is really well written, love it! Only thing you need now is either to record a piano player playing it or get a better piano midi sound. This would sound amazing on a realistic piano sound!

Sorry I took so long to reply. I agree this would sound worlds better on an actual piano or even a better controller, however I just wanted to publish it as it was when I wrote it. I don't think it's possible to play the third variation - with the running notes on top of the melody and bass - on an actual piano without a third hand. I know I can't actually play it; I just wrote it to sound pretty. It got me over my slight depression from college.
